Description

Bert’s BEC 2.0 Profile Pack

Introduction

This profile pack is a detailed sound recreation of the Bogner Ecstasy Classic, one of my all-time favourite amplifiers. It combines a stunning Fender-like clean with Marshall-inspired crunch and gain — all in one iconic amp.

The pack contains two types of profiles:

  • Bert’s Choice (BC) — 45 finished profiles, dialled in to my personal taste. Ready to play.
  • DI — 43 raw, unprocessed profiles. Shape them yourself.

Compatibility

Device Supported
Kemper Profiler MK2 + OS14 ✅ Full quality
Kemper Stage MK2 + OS14 ✅ Full quality
Kemper Player + OS14 (Level II or III upgrade) ✅ Full quality
Kemper Profiler MK1 ⚠️ Loads, but reduced resolution

Note on MK1: These are 2.0 profiles, capturing 100,000+ frequency points per profile. A MK1 unit cannot render this level of detail in full — comparable to playing 4K video on an HD screen. The profiles will load and play, but won’t reach their full potential. New 2.0 features are not available on MK1.

Please note: 2.0 profiles have a lower output level than classic MK1 profiles. You may need to adjust the volume on your profiler or within the rig accordingly.

Channels

The pack covers all three channels of the Bogner Ecstasy Classic:

Code Channel Character
grn Green Clean — Fender-like warmth and clarity
blue Blue Crunch — Marshall-inspired bite and dynamics
red Red Gain — High-gain with rich harmonics

Voicing Options

Boost

A boost option is available on all channels where applicable. Indicated in the profile name where used.

Code Option
BST Boost active

Profile Naming Convention

Profile names follow a consistent structure so you always know exactly what you’re loading:

[Amp]  [Channel]  [Plexi/BST]  [Excursion]  [PreEQ]  [Variant]

Segment Description Example values
[Amp] Amp name abbreviation BM/BEC
[Channel] Amp channel grn, blue, red
[Plexi/BST] Plexi mode or Boost — only when active (Blue/Red only for Plexi) plex, BST or omitted
[Excursion] Excursion type T, M, L
[PreEQ] Pre-EQ setting N, B1, B2
[Variant] Tweaked variations of the same base setting A, B, C… or omitted

Examples

Profile name Meaning
BM/BEC grn M N A Green channel, Medium, Normal EQ, Variant A
BM/BEC blue M B1 Blue channel, Medium, Bright 1
BM/BEC blue plex M B1 B Blue channel, Plexi mode, Medium, Bright 1, Variant B
BM/BEC red BST L B2 A Red channel, Boost, Loose, Bright 2, Variant A
BM/BEC red plex M B1 B Red channel, Plexi mode, Medium, Bright 1, Variant B

Variants (A, B, C…) indicate profiles built on the same base settings but with different tweaks applied — for example, alternative cab choices, EQ adjustments, or different gain staging. Always start with the un-lettered version as your reference point, then explore the variants.

Tips for Getting the Best Results

  • Start with Bert’s Choice profiles to get a finished, playable sound immediately.
  • Use DI profiles if you want full control over cab, EQ, and character from scratch.
  • Plexi mode on the Blue and Red channels adds vintage character — great for classic rock tones.
  • Variants A, B, C are explorations of the same base setting. If the main profile feels close but not quite right, try the variants.
  • On MK2/OS14, the full resolution of 2.0 profiling is active — you’ll hear the difference in dynamics, feel, and harmonic detail.
  • I’d recommend creating a dedicated BM/BEC 2.0 folder in your local library and importing all the profiles there first. From there you can take your time auditioning everything, pick the profiles you actually want to use, and then rename or move them into your profiler at your own pace — no pressure to deal with the full pack at once.
  • 2.0 profiles have a lower output level than MK1 profiles. You may need to adjust the volume on your profiler or within the rig to match your preferred level.
